Ranbir Raj Kapoor was born in Bombay, Maharashtra, India, on September 28, 1982, to stars Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, both actors in the Hindi film industry. He is the son of a family with a long history in the Hindi film industry. Kapoor is the grandson of the late actor and director Raj Kapoor, who was the great-grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor. Kapoor’s family is from Punjab, and he is a Hindu and a Sikh. Both of these faiths are very important to him.
After his tenth-grade exams, he worked for his father as an assistant director and then went to H.R. College of Commerce and Economics to prepare for college. After that, he moved to New York City to study method acting at the School of Visual Arts and directing at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
After working on his acting skills as an actor and director, Kapoor debuted in the 2007 love tragedy Saawariya. He quickly became well-known in Bollywood and won several Filmfare Awards.
